Gua sha for Men’s Health

The testes are the main reproductive organ in men, and are closely associated with the epididymis, seminiferous tubules, prostate gland, seminal vesicles, penis and scrotum. The Yellow Emperor’s Internal Classic described the development of male reproductive function, “A man’s kidney qi flourishes at the age of 16 when he is able to produce sperm and exhibits secondary sex characteristics. At 64, he is old and his kidney qi has declined. His sexual activity has subsided and he has lost the ability to reproduce.” In addition to proper amounts of work and rest, and maintaining psychological health, men can use guasha to supplement kidney essence to benefit sexual health and delaying aging. Guasha can also prevent and improve certain subhealth states, such as back pain, lumbago and lack of energy.
